ELFUEL / ENZIFUEL FOR A CLEANER NATURE
Rumyana Hristoskova made an eco-additive for gasoline and diesel that protects not only the car, but also the air

Have you thought about the footprint you leave as you travel back and forth in your personal car or other vehicle and while transporting the goods you will consume, and then the waste? Transport is responsible for around a quarter of the EU’s total greenhouse gas emissions, with nearly 72% of these attributable to land transport of passengers and goods, the European Environment Agency has estimated. There is no way that there is no way to reduce this carbon footprint… Rumiana Hristoskova is an inventor and she already has her proposal for gasoline and diesel cars. The enzyme additive for fuels “Elfuel” helps to save fuel, reduce air pollution, but also has an impact on the better “health” of the car, she assures. Here’s how this new product was created and what its benefits are:
Being an inventor is a pleasure, and when you make something useful for people, it brings satisfaction. But such a result is the result of a lot of work, accumulation of knowledge and skills, and the “given” to be enlightened by non-standard ideas comes at a later stage, says Rumyana Hristoskova. In 2019, she was strongly impressed by the fact that in Italy they were creating an organic medicinal product into which ozone was inserted. She has experience with introducing oxygen into a complex molecule when, even before the changes of 1989, she implemented new technologies at Farmahim. The success of her Italian colleagues provoked the inventor and scientist in her, and she undertook an experiment outside the field of pharmacy. He sees potential in making an eco-additive for fuels using a similar method. Its development took three years and a lot of money, but the result is already here. The product introduces atomic oxygen into the fuel, this enhances combustion in the engine cylinders where the combustion process takes place. Enzymes are used for the production of the additive, as well as for the breakdown of various organic compounds, through which gasoline and diesel are enriched with oxygen.
Laboratory tests
With the “Elfuel” enzyme additive, fuel consumption is reduced. The savings are from 10% for older car models, and for newer cars it can reach up to 15% on 100 km. The results of the laboratory measurements also show that there are 83% less unburnt hydrocarbon emissions in the waste gases, which significantly reduces their toxicity, as well as air pollution. The level of measured toxic carbon monoxide drops by 33%. Nitrogen oxides, which have an irritating acid effect on the mucous membrane of the eyes and lungs, are reduced by 17%. Fine dust particles are also reduced by 15%, according to laboratory analyses.
Benefits
Plant natural products, which, as a result of fermentation, are broken down and bio-substances that are rich in oxygen are obtained – this is the basis of the innovative “Elfuel”. Due to the improved combustion, the power of the engine increases, along with its detonation resistance. It also decreases the noise when it works. At the same time, the soot deposition in the diesel cars is reduced. It also prevents the formation of resinous deposits on the EGR valve. The lab results show that putting “Elfuel” in the tank does not change the quality of the fuel itself, claims the inventor.
Feedback
The enzyme supplement is produced in its own base near Pazardzhik by the Bulgarian-Austrian company IANPIROS. Therefore, it is already being tested in Bulgaria and Austria, has its first customers and users and enjoys only positive feedback from its use. Among the first to trust the innovation are a number of private car owners, but also Austrian and Bulgarian transport companies are trying the supplement and confirming the positive results. “Since I discovered Elfuel, the cars in my company’s fleet do not run without Elfuel in the tank. I am convinced that the additive helps to reduce fuel costs, to extend the life of cars, but also to make our contribution to a cleaner environment, even when the “Macron” package obliges us to return the trucks to Bulgaria,” assures the owner of a large transport and logistics company.
Step by Step
Rumiana Hristoskova has walked the difficult path to the creation of the product, its successful passage through tests, laboratory tests, international certification and permits. Patent is pending. “I have good organizational skills and it was not difficult for me to go through all this,” says Rumyana Hristoskova, who is the manager of the company IANPIROS, producer of the innovative eco-additive. But is it worth developing such a product for a small market like the Bulgarian one? “I am a woman and a mother and I know that a human being is created from two cells. Usually in Bulgaria, everything good happens slowly, but step by step we are moving towards market realization. Much more time is needed for a new idea to be born, which makes me ambitious to realize it”.
EcoLogical
Not it’s turn of all those who assure that they care about the carbon footprint and the cleaner nature in Bulgaria and in the world. “Elfuel” comes in 25 ml packages and one bottle is enough for 80 liters of gasoline or 70 liters of diesel, and depending on the interest, it can also be put in larger packages. But only the real care for the air we breathe, is able to turn Elfuel into a mass product.
Profile
Rumyana Hristoskova graduated in pharmacy and chemistry in 1982 at the Paisii Hilendarski University of Plovdiv. From 1986 to 1989, she specialized in “Indole alkaloids” at the Institute of Organic Chemistry with the Phytochemistry Center at the BAS. Under the guidance of Prof. Mollov, she developed the topic “Innovative technologies in the creation of new phytochemical substances”. After the changes in 1989, he started a private business in the field of enzyme additives to fuels, creating an “industry norm” for their market realization and quality. Since 2005, he has been redirecting his scientific interests to herbs and their concentrated extracts. Patented two syrups suitable for colds, viral diseases, coughs – Biontus and Bioctin, as well as the medicinal form for the treatment of migraine Semegran. She produces them in her own production base in the Pazardzhik region.
